The young artist grew up in Highland Park, Los Angeles, in a family of actors and musicians, Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell – this is the real name of the singer-songwriter of Scottish and Irish origin – began writing songs at age 11, trying to imitate her older brother, who already had a band. In 2016, barely fifteen, she released her first single, “Ocean Eyes”, on SoundCloud. She was interested in the label Interscope Records, a label owned by Major Universal, who contracted Billie Eilish and started doing “Ocean eyes” (the video today has more than 60 million views).
Immediately after signing with the label, the talented singer began publishing a series of songs that, on August 2017, were collected in the EP “Do not smile at me”, produced by her brother Finneas O’Connell: are also “Bellyache” (more than 110 million views for the video), “Watch” and “Copycat”.
Two of her songs, “Bored” and “Lovely” (the latter recorded with Khalid), were chosen for the soundtrack of the first two seasons of “13 Reasons Why,” the Netflix series produced by Selena Gomez:
Billie Eilish’s debut album has not been announced yet, but the singer has already gotten ahead, with the single “Bitches Broken Hearts”, “You Should See Me In A Crown”, “When the party’s over”, “Come out and play”, published in 2018. The album should be released next spring!
