For years Tumblr acquired a curious reputation, as a platform where it was possible to find porn, under a very particular curatorship by its users. But it all went down the drain when Verizon bought the platform and deleted all adult content. But Pornhub could rescue everything.
It’s unexpected and hopeful as it sounds. The Vice President of Pornhub, Corey Price, had an interview with the colleagues of Buzzfeed News, and there he spoke of his interest in buying Tumblr and turning it into what it should always have been:

We have long been dismayed that such measures have been taken to eradicate the erotic communities on the platform, leaving many people without an asylum through which they could carefully read adult content.
There are obvious synergies between the two brands and the value that Pornhub could derive from Tumblr. We are very interested in acquiring the platform and we are looking forward to one day returning to its former glory with NSFW content.
Verizon is currently the owner of Tumblr. After he bought all the assets of Yahoo! in 2017, including this platform that at some point was seen as the next great social network that would compete against Facebook.
As we saw this, it never happened. So recently there have been reports in which it is stated that the company is looking for a buyer interested in acquiring Tumblr.
The Pornhub executive has come onstage with the statements above as part of the consequences of the release of those reports.
However, there is no absolutely formal offer on the table. Yet. The truth is that this site for adults would give a more interesting shade to Tumblr.
